Super Bowl 57 Ads

Second to Rihanna, the Super Bowl 57 Ads this year did not disappoint. Based on what I’ve seen on various websites, it seems like the Farmer’s Dog “Forever” commercial was the winner, garnering the most impressions. The average Super Bowl Ad costs around 7 million dollars and lasts around 30 seconds. Some sources say that the average ROI of a Super Bowl Ad is about $4.60 per dollar spent.

Here are some of my favorite ads from this year:

Amazon “Saving Sawyer”

A dog, Sawyer, loves its family but hates when they leave for the day. He destroys the house in retribution for them leaving. Eventually, the family catches on and orders a crate from Amazon that is holding a second dog. Sawyer gets a playmate and everyone is happy.

Dunkin “Drive Thru” with Ben Affleck

Movie star Ben Affleck worked at a Dunkin drive thru in Boston, taking orders from customers. In the end, Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s wife, drives up asking what he’s doing there. He admits that Dunkin is where he says he goes when he goes to work. This is a great example of a celebrity endorsement, though Dunkin must’ve paid fortunes for both Affleck and Lopez.

NFL “Run With It”

NFL’s “Run With It” ad features Diana Flores, Mexico’s Women’s National Flag Football quarterback. Flores is being chased for her flags by Erin Andrews, Sauce Gardner, Cam Heyward, Jalen Ramsey, Aidan Hutchinson, Jim Kelly, Mrbeast, Davante Adams, and even her own mother. Along the way, Flores evades these celebs with the help of Billie Jean King, Vanita Krouch, and Bella Rasmussen.

A couple ads featured throwbacks to old movies, including Clueless and Grease. First, Rakuten’s “Not so Clueless” showcases Alicia Silverstone in her infamous plaid, yellow set giving an argument in class. In a different yet similar fashion, John Travolta appears singing a parodied version of Grease’s ‘Summer Nights’ in T-Mobile’s “New Year New Neighbor” advertisement. Last but not least, Workday’s “Rock Star” ad plays on the meaning of calling someone a “rock star” outside of the career. Celebrities Paul Stanley, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Gary Clark Jr. and Joan Jett criticize corporate finance employees for claiming each other as ‘rock stars.’

Other amazing ads I enjoyed also include Tubi’s “Prank Ad,” Peacock’s “Poker Face,” and Planters “The Roast of Mr Peanut.”
